About Me

Hello World! Well, I'm a young Polynesian Woman who is living life and just trying to get by with the little that I have. Although I'm not financially rich, I am rich in many other ways. I was born on July 9, 1991 to Monalisa Mataele and my late father, Nifai Laupua Tonga Jr. I come from a very big family- I'm the oldest of nine and I couldn't ask for more. I'm also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and I truly do love this Gospel. Lastly, I am married to a wonderful man, Samiuela Afu, who was worthy enough to take me to the Oakland Temple where we were sealed for all time and eternity. This is my life story of choices and it's rewards and consequences.

2014 - 2017

2014 was quite some time ago! Thank you, Self, for your one post back in 2014!

Quick reflection and update on what has passed since then:
Sam and I experienced our first loss. On March 21, 2014, I gave birth to our son, Samson, at just 23 weeks. He passed away about 12 hours after birth. Reflecting on that experience, there are a lot of things I would've done differently as far as the kind of care we received. All in all, there was a lot of growth and development for our little family.

2015 wasn't really a big year for us. The biggest blessing we received was our rainbow baby, Sia! She was literally the prettiest baby we ever seen, and I'm not being biased lol

2016 we gained wings to fly the friendly skies - Sam got hired at Delta, and we've barely flown anywhere - pretty lame! We had our second daughter, Fiavaai, took in the boys to live with us (my two youngest brothers, Piliae and Sione), moved from San Jose to Redwood City. That's pretty much it for that year.

2017 I moved agencies, but stayed within the PI community work. We're still hanging in here! Trying to get by. The biggest news is we're moving to Utah!!! This is going to be a big move for our little family, but it's really exciting. I'm hoping the girls will adjust well. The awesome thing is Sam was able to transfer through Delta so we still have wings!

Cheers to new adventures, trials and more courage!

The First of Many Posts

Well, here's to the year 2014!

I look forward to what this year has in store and what rewards or consequences I may find myself in. First thing, I'm thankful for the gospel and for the opportunity I had to be married and sealed to the most wonderful man. I'm thankful for life and the blessing we have to be here. I am a proud member for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I am currently 11 weeks pregnant which is a reward and consequence all together (lol). Cheers to enough love, laughter, sadness, rain, sunshine and gratitude to keep us all strong and happy!
